And by whose grace did I arrive here, set down
in this place where moonlight kills, and
dreams leave blood and leaves
upon the twisted sheets of dawn?

PURPLE PROSE:

THE NIGHTWAY 8/99

There are moments of darkness in our lives.

Precious jewels that glisten like onyx, moments of time that enthrall our souls.

A radiant sparkle of passion, a glimmer of half tasted pain.

These are the agonies and ecstasies that make life worth touching.

I do not fear the dark, or sleep, or death.
The knife. The teeth of hounds.
I only fear the Fool in the wood,
the water, the mirror glass....

-excerpt from The WoodWife by Terri Windling

Nothing else yet,

I am still contemplating my navel....
